Picking the Best .30 cal Low Profile K Sized Suppressor
Would it be reasonable to say that most times I pull the trigger, I'm at a range or out in an open field? I don't need a full-bodied sound suppressor. I just need something to dampen the noise to a pleasant tone and eliminate the harm of concussive forces. A can that's light, short, and low-profile ends up making it onto most of my range guns. Spending hours on the range, running drills, working splits, a can that disappears on my rifle is the can I'm taking.
I could rattle off a hundred other reasons why one might care about weight and length more than complete sound suppression. Getting in and out of vehicles. A low-volume firing session on a hunt. An obsession with the smallest platform we can get. K can enjoyers, you know why you're here.

K can be made to disappear. At only 5 inches, it's a true K can by our standards, and at 6.7 oz it's featherweight, nearly imperceivable at the end of a rifle. The closest competitor on weight and length is the TBAC Ultra-5, which is a solid backup if you can't find a Hydrogen in stock.
The downsides here are backpressure and minimum barrel length. The Hydrogen's light weight comes largely from its welded construction and careful material selection, so be conscious of the slight backpressure increase that comes with the design. Confirm your barrel length meets spec too, as the requirements are pretty conservative. That said, if you tried putting this on a 12" 308, understand that the can is only taking the risk from extremely hazardous to just hazardous. On shorter barreled rifles, this thing will be loud.

Haynes 282
This pick is for those who liked size of the Hydrogen K but need something that has far less backpressure and can sit on some shorter barrels. While Radical Defense shamefully does not have readily published barrel length restrictions for the CS3 and CS3Ti, the model made from Haynes 282 should be able to handle far higher pressure than our Titanium Hydrogen K just based off what we know about Haynes 282's material properties. We hope to bring you formal backpressure metrics on this can in the future, but many users have been reporting nearly imperceivable increases in backpressure when using this can making it an easy choice for the semi auto host. The only drawback, sound performance withstanding, is the very heavy weight of this can at 18.5 oz. I don't know what they did to get a 5" can to weigh that much.

Titanium / Titanium Grade 5
This probably should have been our number one pick. Our idea of a K can, admittedly a loosely defined category in the industry, is anything under 5.5". The Ti-Trex 300ti comes in between 5.9" and 6.2" depending on the end cap. But if CGS can call their 6.3" Hyperion a K, we can make an exception for this one.
This can has all the new tech: a fully 3D printed core to keep it light and reduce back pressure, a stainless steel ring to protect your serial number, and removable SilencerCo Bravo compatible end caps (with multiple options shipped from the factory). Sound performance beats everything else on this list. In truth, it is a more balanced can than anything on this list if you can overlook the extra inch of length and are fine with a titanium can.

At just 5.5 inches, this welded can is famous on forums for punching above its weight in sound performance. LPM put serious thought into the design, even doing a full lineup revamp from the Anthem K series to the K2 to implement a more refined baffle stack. While it's welded, it sits on the lower end of the high back pressure spectrum. The stainless steel construction handles higher firing schedules, shorter barrel lengths, and produces no sparking, all at a lower price than the titanium options on this list. The tradeoff is a little extra weight. An easy value pick that's low profile and ready to be used and abused.

Other Can’s to Consider

CS3 Ti
Radical Defense
The titanium version of the CS3. While it is still a short truly low backpressure can, it weights almost 14oz as a titanium can. This is pretty heavy for a titanium can and is what steered us towards the Haynes 282 version of this can few just a few more ounces.

Hydrogen S
Otter Creek Labs
The Hydrogen S is the bigger brother to the K. This is an excellent can and is worth considering if you decide a K can is not for you. Coming in at 7" with a welded baffle stack in titanium, it is in a very competitive space. If you are interested in this can we would encourage you to check out our page on 30 cal hunting suppressors.

Ultra 5 Gen 2
Thunder Beast Arms Corporation
A good competitor to the Hydrogen K. It shares most of the accolades that were given to the hydrogen series and has a popular following in long range communities. It takes a back seat in this list simply because their hub series of Ultra 5 have been discontinued and streamlined into their magnus series. The included CB mount system has a critical flaw of not having a taper before the threads to keep carbon away. This runs the risk of both carbon locking and breaking your mount repeatability over long firing schedules without cleaning.

Mach K
Liberty Precision Machine
A sister product the the Anthem K2 but built in titanium to save some weight. The "2" in the Anthem K2 denoted the newer baffle design. It is our understanding that the Mach K, despite not being called Mach K2, has this newer baffle stack.
