Shotgun suppressors are the odd ducks of the silencer world, and the reason is physics that's completely different from a rifle or pistol can.

A normal suppressor works because a single rigid bullet travels down a fixed-diameter bore through the baffle stack, never touching anything, while the gas behind it gets trapped and slowed. A shotgun breaks every assumption there. You're not sending one projectile, you're sending a plastic wad cup carrying a column of loose shot, and that whole package has to pass through the can intact. The barrel is smoothbore, and the muzzle usually ends in choke threads that constrict the pattern. So a shotgun can has to survive a wad slapping through it thousands of times and guide that payload from baffle to baffle without deforming the shot pattern.
